The man has been identified as 20-year-old Alonso Hernandez.
The crash happened just after 12:30 pm on Goshen Avenue between Mooney Boulevard and Demaree Street.
Police say a Nissan Altima was going east on Goshen when it crossed over and crashed head-on with a Toyota Tacoma.
Both drivers were taken to Kaweah Health, where Hernandez died from his injuries.
Police have not said if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
