Ruiz Foods cutting nearly 200 jobs in Dinuba

DINUBA, Calif. (KFSN) -- America's largest frozen Mexican food manufacturer is laying off some 175 people at its plant in Dinuba.

Company leaders say the job cuts will be effective November 4.

On that day, the plant will also transition to a five-day production schedule.

Affected workers were notified on September 2.

The facility in Dinuba currently employs about 1,400 team members.

Ruiz Foods President and CEO Kimberli Carroll says the cuts are necessary to "better align production capacity with anticipated customer demand."

In 2023, the company announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Dinuba to Texas.

The next year, Ruiz Foods shut down another manufacturing plant in Tulare after 20 years in business.
