On Monday, the district held a dedication for its Aquatic Center at Sanger West High School.
Along with a ribbon cutting, teams broke in the new pool the best way they knew how.
The Sanger West Swim and Water Polo Teams took a big jump into the water.
One of the members didn't let his lack of swimwear stop him from taking part.
The center is located on Fowler near Church in southeast Fresno.
It features an Olympic-size pool measuring more than 193 feet long by 75 feet wide.
The new pool is the first of two planned for the Aquatic Center.
One swimmer says this will cut out around 90 minutes of extra time spent waiting to use a shared pool, forcing their training to last until 8 pm or 8:30 pm.
The district says the nearly $18 million project is funded by Measure C.
The $150 million bond was approved by voters in 2020 for school upgrades and the completion of the Sanger Unified Educational Complex.
