Crews were staging for the incident at the North Fork Mini Mart.
Madera County Sheriff's Deputies were notified by Tuolumne County officials Thursday night of a 13-year-old who came into their county with an explosive device.
They say the teen lives in Madera County, so sheriff's deputies went to a home on Cougar Springs Trail near Road 200 early Friday morning to make sure there were no other devices.
They served a search warrant and found a box they thought could be something of concern.
The bomb squad was called out to investigate and found out it was not a bomb, but rather a pile of junk.
The scene was cleared.
