"It's very, very frustrating," said Aamco manager Armen Postoyan.
He gets a front row seat to construction this week. His auto shop is one of the businesses feeling the effects of the public safety renovations.

Union Pacific Railway is tearing up a section of railroad crossing to make it safer for drivers to pass over. The intersection of Golden State Boulevard and Shaw is closed through Thursday night. During that time the city of Fresno is diverting drivers to Carnegie and Ashlan.
"They ought to do this during the night, whenever they're supposed to, where there's no traffic. You got all this traffic behind you. Look at all these cars behind you," said driver Albert Hernandez.
As Hernandez says it's certainly causing a backup in traffic even during slow afternoon hours. City officials are advising westbound drivers to go further north to Herndon to get to the 99.
