The advisories impacted people in Critter Creek, Sierra Lakes, Rose Bush, Courtney and the Fair Oaks areas for several hours.
Authorities advised residents to stay indoors, close windows, and bring pets inside.
The Madera County Sheriff's Office says the chemical was confined to one building.
California American Water says it is still working to determine the specific chemicals involved. But, it has done testing at the site and confirms water quality is normal and not impacted.
The road closure along Road 426 has also been lifted.
