CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- As we prepare for a potential heat wave across the Central Valley, city leaders in Clovis announced that the Sierra Vista Mall is no longer a designated cooling center.

The change comes after reports of broken air conditioning units at the shopping center.

Instead, the city designated the Clovis Community Center as a new place for residents to cool off.

It's located at Fourth Street near Veterans Parkway in Clovis.

The community center will be open from 8 am until 6 pm on days that reach 105 degrees or greater.

You can use the Clovis Transit System to get there at no cost.
