FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Local students learned the ways of historians by participating the 33rd Annual Fresno County History Day event.
Students exercised their research skills by doing projects related to this year's theme of "exploration, encounter, exchange in history."

Projects were judged on historical accuracy, relationship to the theme and the clarity of the presentation.
Winners will move on to the state competition in Rocklin, CA with the potential to qualify for National History Day at the University of Maryland.
