Suspect arrested for convenience store robbery

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Visalia police now have a suspect in custody after a man stole several items from an Am-Pm convenience store.

Police say the robbery happened just before 8 a.m. Sunday morning near Dinuba Boulevard and Riggin Avenue.

32-year-old Jon Martinez is accused of stealing display items and trying to strike an employee before running away.

Authorities later located Martinez and found he had a baton in his possession.

He is now booked into the Tulare County Jail on robbery and weapon possession charges.
