However, neither result materialized, as the Grizzlies dropped the regular-season finale, 5-3, to the Giants on Sunday.
The bright spot came from San Joaquin Memorial alum Tanner Sagouspe, whom the Colorado Rockies drafted in the ninth round of the 2026 MLB Draft after playing his collegiate ball at Cal Poly and TCU.
Sagouspe came on in relief, shoving two innings while allowing no hits or runs and striking out three, with his family in attendance.
With the loss on Sunday, the season comes to an end for the Grizzlies, but Sagouspe said he's fortunate to get the opportunity to show out for his hometown team.
"Being able to play in front of my community and family, most importantly, has been awesome," Sagouspe said. "Couldn't have written it up any better than to be able to come back home and play for Fresno."
The Grizzlies end the season with a 69-63 overall record.
