FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The 19-year-old who was killed after he was side-swiped by a semi-truck on Monday evening in Fresno County has been identified.

He was identified as Mattix Salmon of Kingsburg.

The California Highway Patrol says they were called just after 6:30 p.m. to a crash on Manning Avenue east of Riverside Avenue.

An initial investigation found that the semi-truck driver, identified as Marlon Tavarez of San Joaquin, was driving east on Manning Ave when he veered into the westbound lane.

Salmon was traveling west in a Chevrolet Silverado when he was sideswiped by a semi, causing his vehicle to go off the roadway and flip over multiple times, landing on its roof.

He died from his injuries at the scene.

Tavarez was uninjured and remained on the scene, cooperating with the investigation.

Officials say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
