Two teens sentenced for attempted Jewelry store robbery

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two teens caught on camera earlier this year during a botched robbery were both sentenced to prison on Wednesday.

The robbery attempt happened on June 27th at Marlene's Jewelry on Kings Canyon near Clovis Avenue.

The surveillance video received national media attention. The store owner came out with a shotgun and the teens ran out the front door.

Edgar Yepez, 17, received 11 years and four months in prison for being the gunman. His accomplice, Jesus Antonio Medina, also 17, was sentenced to four years in prison.
