The Valley Air District is now offering Electric Equipment Rebates to help reduce the use of gas for lawn care.
The air district says funding is available Valley-wide with the goal of improving air quality.
Gas-powered lawn equipment contributes to air pollution, and switching to cleaner electric alternatives helps residents reduce emissions while maintaining their yards.
Through the program, you may qualify for up to $250 off the purchase price of a new electric lawn mower.
That does require a gas mower trade-in.
$50 rebates are available for electric yard tools like edgers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and pole saws.
A trade-in is not required.
Visit ValleyAir.org to review program guidelines and submit an application before purchasing equipment.
