FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valley Animal Center says it's forced to make some changes due to dropping donations and rising costs of care, food and general shelter needs.
They announced they will be slowing down new animal intake, to better focus on animals currently in their care.
The center will also only do adoptions by appointment during the week -- and be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
It's new surrender policy now requires an email request with a possible fee of $1,000 to cover costs.
The shelter is on Hayston Avenue in East Central Fresno.
