Woman hospitalized after being hit by vehicle in East Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman has been taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle near Belmont and Chestnut avenues in East Central Fresno around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, police say.

When officers arrived, they found a woman lying in the street, unconscious and not breathing, with severe injuries to her head and torso.

Officers performed CPR until fire and emergency medical services arrived.

She was then taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment and has not been identified.

Fresno police say the area of Belmont and Chestnut avenues will be closed for several hours.



The crash remains under investigation.
