Man arrested following deadly shooting in Selma, police say

SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Selma Police Department arrested a man connected to a deadly shooting that happened on Saturday morning.

The suspect, 48-year-old Nicholas Salazar, is behind bars.

Officers responded to the area of Logan and Cypress streets just after 4:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately began providing medical aid.

The woman was then taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.



Investigators later learned the shooting stemmed from a fight at a nearby home.

The investigation remains ongoing.
