Sailor hospitalized after injury while working at NAS Lemoore, officials say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A sailor was hospitalized after being injured while working at Naval Air Station Lemoore Wednesday evening.

The sailor was doing maintenance on an F-35C Lightning II aircraft when the injury happened, according to the Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) in San Diego.

The sailor was "medically evacuated" to a Fresno hospital. The extent of their injuries hasn't been released.

The Navy is investigating the incident.
