Scam alert for Tulare County

TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Tulare County Sherrif deputies have responded to 15 calls regarding a male subject attempting to scam Tulare County residents.

The scammer identifies himself as "Lieutenant Jack Rayne" from the Tulare County Sheriff's Office, over the phone.

Authorities say during the call, the scammer will state you have "class c" warrant out for your arrest, and in order to avoid arrest, he says to meet him at the Visalia Substation to put $800 on a Green Dot account card.

Tulare County Sheriff's Office says they do not make these type of request.
