A knock on a door in East Central Fresno ends with a man shot and in serious condition

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in serious condition after officers said he was shot by a stranger inside an East Central Fresno apartment.

Police said a stranger knocked on the door of an apartment near Maple and McKinley, reached inside the apartment, and opened fire.

One man was shot in the hip and taken to Community Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

Six other adults and an infant were inside the apartment at the time but not injured.

Right now there is no motive for the shooting and witnesses said the suspect was a stranger.
