CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Clovis Police remained on the scene Sunday afternoon at K1 Speed in Clovis where an 18-year-old man was shot on Saturday night.

Police say the incident happened in the parking lot of the southeast side of the mall, near K1 Speed (formerly known as MB2 Raceway).

They arrived to find that a shooting took place, but say the victim had left the scene.

Police learned the victim did suffer a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital by several others who were at the scene.

Clovis Police have now identified the victim as an adult male and he has been treated and released from the hospital.

Clovis police said they are trying to figure out what lead up to the shooting.

"It was learned that three suspects were on scene prior to the shooting. And they were described as wearing hoodies along with masks and disguised their identity. So unfortunately, we don't have any other description of them at this point," said Corporal Kory Vitato with the Clovis Police Department.

You can still see the down tree from the car crash.

Clovis police remained in the area, making sure Sierra vista mall visitors stay safe.

Kristie Bonner just moved to Clovis but has been visiting the area for decades. She said she was talking to her co-worker about the incident, and he shared the shocking information.

"I was making a comment to him, 'I'm like yeah someone got shot in Clovis' and he goes 'yeah, it was right by my house," said Bonner.
