Astronaut Scott Kelly to speak at Fresno town hall lecture

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Record-setting astronaut Scott Kelly is expected kick off the 2017-2018 San Joaquin Valley Town Hall lecture series at the Saroyan Theatre.

Capt. Kelly is known as the record holder for the longest time spent in space by an American astronaut. He's currently part of a study researching the effects of long-term space travel and is expected to release a new book next month.

Kelly's lecture is September 27 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost $40 dollars.

Town halls in Fresno have been a tradition in the city since World War 2.
