Philadelphia, Pa -- The Jane Gallery in Old City, Philadelphia, is an art gallery dedicated to female and queer artists.
"Seventeen percent of all artists in museums are women. It's only 17 percent, which is just--it's just bananas," says owner Alison Mustokoff.
The gallery opened in October 2024 and showcases a different artist every month. For Women's History Month, artist Nataliya Yermolenko is presenting her first solo exhibit, Icons, Influence & You.
"The initial body of work is made up of things that inspired me as an artist," says Yermolenko. She also invited the community to submit photos of everyday people who inspired them and created pieces from those photos to tie the body of work together.
Notable icons featured in the exhibit include Frida Kahlo, Maya Angelou, and Marilyn Monroe.
