Police say 50-year-old Raquel Sigarroa of Fresno was struck by the driver after stepping out into traffic.
It happened just after midnight Thursday on Blackstone and Ashlan.
Sigarroa died at the scene.
The driver stopped and cooperated with officers.
Northbound traffic along Blackstone was closed for the investigation.
