Roads into Yosemite National Park are back open

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- All roads into Yosemite Valley are back open after being closed overnight due to flooding concerns.

Highways 140, 41 and Big Oak Flat Road from Highway 120 have reopened on Friday morning. On Thursday night, officials closed all roads into the Valley due to possible flooding from the Merced River into the Yosemite Valley.

"Once the river goes above 10 feet then that triggers impacts such as water going over the road, it could impact vehicles, campgrounds, things like that," said Scott Gediman, Yosemite National Park.

This is the first time in six years Yosemite National Park has had to close all major roads because of a storm.

Highway 120 over Tioga Pass and Glacier Point Road remain closed for the season.
