FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Back-to-school season continues here in the Valley, as thousands of students will be getting up early to head back to the classroom.
Summer vacation is over for those attending schools in the Central Unified School District.
More than 16,000 students will be heading back to 24 schools in the district.
Back in June, the disrict made history with having the first school in the nation to be named after a Punjabi Sikh human rights activist.
Dr. Mark Marshall was also named Central Unified's new superintendent in June.
