Kerman Police chase of kidnapping suspect ends in downtown Fresno ejection crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The victim of an alleged kidnapping in Kerman is in the hospital after being ejected from their kidnapper's car in downtown Fresno.

Fresno Police says Kerman Police Officers were pursuing a vehicle involved in the kidnapping of a woman on Friday night.

Officers say that chase ended when the suspect's vehicle crashed into a passing vehicle at the intersection of Fresno and E streets.

The woman was ejected as a result of the crash. She was taken to CRMC and her current condition is unknown.

The kidnapping suspect was also taken to CRMC with unknown injuries.



The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say the Kerman Police Department will handle the kidnapping investigation, while Fresno Police will handle the collision investigation.

It's unclear how long Fresno Street will be closed due to the investigation.
