It's a string of violence that's sent shock waves through a Southeast Fresno neighborhood.
"Yes, it was scary hearing all the shots," recalls one neighbor who wishes to stay anonymous.
Neighborhood residents are in shock after they say an overnight shooting sent a woman in her 80's to the hospital.
The anonymous neighbor continues, "My wife said it sounded like a machine gun."
The shooting happened on Thursday morning, and bullet holes could still be seen in the living room window of the Southeast Fresno home.
Police say the shooting happened around 2:30, that's when neighbors, like Anthoney Jump, who lives next door, were woken up to the sound of gunfire...
"I was lying in bed kind of awake, and about to fall asleep, and I heard all that bam bam bam bam," says Anthoney.
"I could hear bullets close to where I was at and things ricocheting and I thought that's not normal for a firework," continues Anthoney.
Multiple shell casings and at least fifteen evidence markers could be seen in the road and the front yard as Fresno Police Detectives gathered evidence.
Three of the multiple shots struck the woman who lives in the home.
The family says the great-grandmother is recovering.
Her neighbor calls it a miracle that no one else was hurt.
"My friend was sitting right there.. Like those two bullets right there went over where he was sitting," recalls Anthoney.
As police continue to look for a motive behind the shooting, residents are also hoping for answers.
But Anthoney says close calls like this have happened here before, "I was there when they pulled the gun out on me the first time, I don't think they found who they were looking for because they didn't shoot me."
Some neighbors have also described the area as peaceful and quiet, but have noticed an increase in activity over the last several years.
Fresno Police say this remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the detectives on this case.
