According to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, the air Fresno County and Merced County will both be unhealthy on Friday, November 16. In Madera County, Kings County, and Tulare County, the air will be unhealthy for sensitive groups on Friday.

Valley Air says with these conditions you should limit your outdoor activities, especially children and people with chronic heart and lung disease. It says everyone else should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.

Authorities at UC Merced canceled classes early Thursday to protect students as smoke from the devastating Camp Fire continued to make the air dangerous to breathe. Campus will be closed except for essential services.
