Hundreds of folklorico dancers filled the baseball field at Clovis West High School on Sunday in an attempt to break a world record.

More than 1,200 dancers were expected to perform, which would blow away the current record of 458 set in Mexico. The event was part of the Danzantes Unidos Festival, which celebrates Mexican culture through folk dance and music.

The group members will officially find out in a couple of weeks if their attempt was enough to break a record after the numbers are verified.
