Boat carrying eight catches fire on Millerton Lake

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A boat packed with eight people caught fire Saturday afternoon on Millerton Lake.

Officials say nearby boaters helped rescue all eight passengers before first responders arrived.

Two people were treated for minor injuries and are expected to be okay.

The boat was towed to the Madera County side of the lake and was extinguished by firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
