Body found in canal south of Merced

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced County detectives are investigating after a body was found in a canal by a farm labor worker.

The discovery was made about 6:30 Friday morning just south of Merced near Arboleda Drive and Mariposa Way. Officials say they are investigating the death as suspicious.

The roadway between Warden and Mariposa Way is expected to be closed for several hours as crews investigate.
