Body found in central Fresno canal, police investigating

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating after a man's body was found in a central Fresno canal on Monday morning.

Officials say a passerby reported seeing a man face down in the canal on Thesta and Floradora Avenues around 10:45 a.m.

Police say they found no evidence of a sign of a struggle or trauma to the man's body. An official cause of death is still pending.

The man has not been identified.

Law enforcement and first responders have the area blocked off while they continue their investigation. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
