Made in the Valley: Anzula luxury fibers
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Their yarns have traditional fibers like merino, cashmere, silk and linen, but they also have exotic blends that have camel, bamboo, milk protein and tencel.
Sabrina started the business in her home. She began with spinning her own yarn, then selling skeins of hand spun yarn and items she crocheted or knit. She moved from there into dyeing her own fiber and yarns.
In 2008 she decided to go big and moved into the wholesale market and she exhibited at her first trade show in 2009. They dye about 2,500 skeins each week and have 98 colorways and 14 different yarns.
Every yarn is available in every colorway -- so they can make 1,372 unique products. Their yarns have traditional fibers like merino, cashmere, silk and linen, but they also have exotic blends that have camel, bamboo, milk protein and tencel.
Anzula has 8 full time employees plus Sabrina, the owner. Their yarns are carried by approximately 175 independent yarn shops in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Europe. There are 2 shops in the Fresno area that carry Anzula -- Swatches and Janna's Needle Art.
