Disney Night stirs up fun on week 5 of 'Dancing With The Stars'; dance-by-dance recap

LOS ANGELES -- "Dancing With The Stars" is wishing upon a star once again for its latest round of competition. Disney Night has become a tradition. Classic, familiar songs are mixed with some fun visual effects, as our celebrities are transformed into everything from princes and princesses to pirates and chimney sweeps. But remember for every Disney hero or heroine, there's a villain. This week, a witch took the top spot.

Here's a rundown of scores, from highest to lowest:

RUMER WILLIS - 39 out of 40

All it took was becoming a witch and Rumer found herself back at the top of the heap! She and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a Samba to "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from "The Little Mermaid," which meant Rumer was transformed into Ursula, the sea witch. It was a very fun concept and the couple even did some rehearsals in the swimming pool to help get in the mood. Rumer received cheers and applause from the inside crowd, including from her famous parents. The judges were raving as well. Head judge Len Goodman simply called her a fantastic dancer. Bruno Tonioli called the dance deliciously wicked. Carrie Ann Inaba used the phrase "odd and weird, but it turned me on." Okay. Julianne Hough thought Rumer was able to make Ursula sexy and called it the best dance of the night.

NASTIA LIUKEN - 38 out of 40

The usually stoic former Olympian was thrilled to get to show her sillier side with a Jazz dance to the song "Love is an Open Door" from "Frozen." Both in rehearsals and during the show, there was a lighthearted air about the routine. Len said there was nothing "frozen" about the dance and likes Nastia's sunny side. Bruno called the routine practically perfect. Carrie Ann felt their dance was like a Disney dream come true.

RIKER LYNCH - 38 out of 40

Riker embodied the Johnny Depp character Capt. Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean." It's a favorite of his and he more than embraced the fun of channeling Depp. Their dance is the fierce Paso Doble, and it rocked the judge's world. Bruno called it a blockbuster. Carrie Ann thought Allison Holker's choreography was a "beast" and that Riker slayed it. Julianne appreciated the combination of technique, content, emotion and passion. Len thought perhaps it wasn't really a tribute to "Pirates," but rather "Fast and Furious."

WILLOW SHIELDS - 34 out of 40

It was hard not to stare at Mark Ballas' wacky White Rabbit costume in this "Alice in Wonderland" Foxtrot routine. Willow is the perfect young Alice. Mark couldn't even breathe under that hairy, scary mask, but he could dance! The two did a fun bit in rehearsal, where they ate the mystery snacks provided by her dad. A la Alice, she got large and Mark became tiny. Their Foxtrot was dark and moody and full of character and choreography. Len called this a wonderful, creative dance and thinks Willow keeps getting better. Bruno said the dance was haunting and powerful. Carrie Ann thought it was an epic production. Julianne said the routine took her down the rabbit hole.

NOAH GALLOWAY - 28 out of 40

Noah has more commitment than anyone in this competition in improving week-to-week. Sharna Burgess has proved to be a masterful choreographer. Their song is appropriately titled "A Whole New World" from "Aladdin" and each new dance really does open up a whole new world of challenges for both of them. This week's Foxtrot is supposed to have a "rise and fall." Trouble is Noah is missing a knee on one leg, so that's out. Sharna cleverly comes up with some other moves and reminds Noah that he should be focusing on what he can do, not what he can't. Julianne praised his frame. Bruno said their interaction was flawless. Carrie Ann told the couple they captured the hearts of the audience.

SUZANNE SOMERS - 28 out of 40

Suzanne not only had to dance first, but she also had to do her Jazz dance right after she learned she was in jeopardy. Thanks for the added pressure, producers! Suzanne and Tony Dovolani had a tough week in rehearsal. She was seriously ready to throw in the towel. She actually tells Tony she doesn't think she can stay with the show, because she's so "lousy at it." He tries to pull her out of the pity party (and, by the way, choreographs a great routine) and by show night, she's come out of her funk. There was one stumble in the dance (she says she stepped on her dress), and while all the judges acknowledged that hiccup, they all agreed this was her best dance to date.

PATTI LABELLE - 27 out of 40

Patti's take on this competition seems to be just the opposite of Suzanne's. Where Suzanne played a bit of a martyr, Patti acknowledged her knee injury, her age, her inexperience, but committed to learning her Waltz and told Artem she'd work hard so she wouldn't let him down. Best attitude ever, especially when host Erin Andrews asked how her knee felt and Patti said, "Whatever with my knee, Noah has one leg." Patti knows how to get things into perspective and quick! Carrie Ann called her the fairy godmother of the ballroom. Len thought the dance was charming and told Patti he hoped she'd be back. Bruno told Patti she seems to sprinkle her own stardust around the room with her naturalness and warmth. Julianne thanked her for giving us all a bit of her Patti magic.

CHRIS SOULES - 27 out of 40

Patti had a knee issue. Chris has a bad calf. He injured it during rehearsal earlier on show day and it looked painful. He put on his big boy skirt and silver headband and channeled Hercules in the ballroom. He was a bit downhearted during rehearsals, given the past few weeks' scores, but Witney Carson brings her old partner (and past champ) Alfonso Ribeiro in to help coach. Len acknowledged the Quickstep is a tough dance and called their performance "fine." Julianne thinks Chris needs to have more fun. Bruno said Chris needs to work on his musicality. Carrie Ann disagreed with them all and thought it was his best performance by a long shot.

ROBERT HERJAVEC - 24 out of 40

We clearly learn this week that the TV Shark is great with elegant ballroom routines, but the fast-footed ones trip him up. Kym Johnson is an adorable Mary Poppins wanna-be. He's Bert the chimney sweep who's trying to "Step in Time." Alas, he can't. Robert messes up from the very beginning and can't quite get back on the beat. Len praised his enthusiasm, but thinks maybe that's what threw him off. Julianne said the footwork just wasn't there and the steps were so NOT in time. Carrie Ann said "chim chim cha boom."

The three stars in jeopardy were Patti LaBelle, Chris Soules and Suzanne Somers. In the end, the judges knocked on Suzanne's door and let her know she was no longer part of this company.
