Fresno woman has tires stolen off new car in front of her home
The car was left on retaining wall bricks-- a neighbor noticed three guys driving off in a pickup in the early morning hours.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Shannon Slava-Lombre works for the Valley Children's Hospital foundation. Her heart was warmed by the public's generosity during last week's telethon, but Monday morning her heart was broken when she discovered someone stole the tires off her brand new Dodge Charger.

"I think it's hurtful when anytime you work really hard to get something and then somebody has to ruin what you've really worked hard for."

Lombre said she had only had the car for just a few weeks.

"You've got to be kidding me. This is still a thing? People still do this. I thought they just stole cars."

The car was left on retaining wall bricks-- a neighbor noticed three guys driving off in a pickup in the early morning hours that day near Ashlan and Fowler.

The new Charger had rally rims and tires.

"I liked them. It was part of why I wanted the car. Somebody else liked them as well," said Lombre.

Lombre is now waiting for the Clovis Dodge dealership to put new rims and tires on her car.

"I have asked for everything to be restored back to factory perfect with different rim locks."

And when Lombre gets it back the car will always be parked inside the garage.

Fresno Police have not seen an increase in tire theft reports but the tow truck company which picked up Lombre's car has noticed a rise in tire theft among brand new Dodge and Chevy vehicles with nice rims.
