Los Banos officers injured in officer involved shooting identified

LOS BANOS, Calif (KFSN) -- The Los Banos Police Department released the names of the two police officers injured in a shooting in Los Banos.

The Police Department announced Friday that 34-year-old Officer Kristifer Hew and 28-year-old Officer Aaron Pinon are continuing to recover and are in good spirits.

Both men were shot while responding to a break in at an apartment on Monday.

Officer Hew is at a Sacramento area hospital for continued treatment of three gunshot wounds. Officer Pinon was released overnight and is now resting at home with family.

The Police Department said the Hew and Pinon families want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and well wishes as they continue to recover.
