2 bodies discovered in burned car in Merced County

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two bodies were found in a burned car in the North Valley on Monday.

Merced County sheriff's deputies were called to an orchard off East Monte Vista Avenue near Bledsoe Road just before 10 a.m. The location is near the Stanislaus County line.

Deputies found the burned remains inside a vehicle. Detectives say the fire was already out before they arrived, but it's not clear how long the victims have been dead.

The case is now being treated as a double homicide investigation.
