4th suspect wanted in brazen home invasion near Orosi

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- South Valley investigators are developing new leads in a home invasion and shootout near Orosi last month. The crime left one person dead and two others injured.

Investigators released for the second time surveillance photos showing three suspects wanted in a brazen home invasion near Orosi. Within days after the photos were published this week, Tulare County investigators learned new information that led to the arrest of Francisco Padilla. Padilla pled not guilty to the crimes Friday in court.

Investigators have also now identified Edgar Picazo as the fourth suspect wanted in the violent crime.

"They have helped to get some identifications made. We're hoping other people could continue to view those photographs and give us more information but any type of information that comes forward from that has been very helpful so far," said Tulare County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Fultz.

Deputies say last month, four siblings were home alone when the armed suspects broke into the home near Orosi. Investigators say the 22-year-old victim tried to protect his three younger siblings by grabbing a gun from a safe and a shootout ensued between him and the four suspects inside the home.

"I can't imagine how terrifying it is, there were little children in this home and the person involved really he was a very young man, as well. His actions are heroic in protecting his family but I cant imagine the terror this entire family has gone through," said Fultz.

The victim killed one of the suspects and critically injured another, who is still at the hospital. The victim is also still recovering at a different hospital from gunshot wounds he suffered. All of the suspects are facing a slew of charges, including murder.

"Because they committed this home-invasion robbery in such a violent way with guns that provoked the homeowner to respond and actually, that homeowner was the one that killed the individual, they're responsible," said Fultz.
