FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two firefighters from Alaska, who are helping battle the Rough Fire, had some of their gear stolen Saturday night.

Bryan Quimby and another firefighter have been staying at the SpringHill Suites in Northeast Fresno for the last week. When they woke up Sunday morning, they found their rental Jeep had the windows smashed and vital equipment stolen.

"Street value probably not very much because it's a bunch of dirty clothes and used sleeping bags that are pretty smelly, but for us it's pretty invaluable to be able to spend the night comfortably out in the woods," said Quimby.

The men filed a police report and have contacted their agencies to get the items replaced so they can get back to fighting the flames. They're spending another two weeks in the Valley doing aviation operations for the Rough Fire.
