FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A double homicide investigation is underway in Fresno County. Detectives say a man and a woman were found dead in a field near Chestnut and Adams avenues just after 7 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators got a call for a welfare check, but when they arrived they found two people who they say had been dead for hours. Authorities questioned people who work in the area. The victims haven't been identified, and investigators are still trying to figure out how they died.
"We believe they probably were working in the field. We don't know exactly how long they had been there, their relationship just yet," said Lt. Mark Padilla of the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say they're looking for the driver of a maroon 2010 Toyota Camry with license plate number 6KAN596. They believe the driver of that car may somehow be involved in this crime and want to question that person.
