DUI driver causes deadly crash in Tulare, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators have arrested a man in connection with a fatal accident in the South Valley.

Tulare Police arrested Servando Garcia Saturday afternoon after deeming he was under the influence at the time of a three-car crash near Hillman and Cartmill Avenue.

When officers arrived, it was clear two people were seriously injured. Both were transported to the hospital where a 13-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries.

The second passenger, a 21-year-old woman, is also in grave condition.

Garcia has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, DUI and driving on a suspended license due to a prior DUI arrest.
