Fatal crash snarls traffic in Northeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday. Authorities said, a woman driving a Kia SUV was driving northbound on Fresno Street when she ran a red light at the intersection. Police say the woman hit a silver car headed westbound on Herndon. The impact sent the car crashing into three other vehicles that were stopped at a red light.

Authorities said the a man in the silver car died at the scene. They said the suspect was taken to the hospital has been arrested on vehicular manslaughter charges. Several other people were hurt and treated for moderate injuries.

Fresno Police said the Red Kia SUV that ran the red light was reported stolen out of Kingsburg.
