LINDSAY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The fire happened at the Suntreat packing and shipping on Tulare Road and Oxford Avenue in Lindsay. Fire officials say the north end of the complex is a complete loss.

The fire started at around 1 a.m. on Friday and crews saw smoke right away when they arrived on scene. Officials say the fire was burning in some sub-flooring between the basement and the level above it, which made it difficult to actually find the fire. Eventually the only thing keeping the fire in check was the sprinkler system, and crews just tried to limit damage from the outside.

The north side of the building, which is the older part of this complex, is a loss. Fire officials believe the cause of the fire might have something to do with a welding operation here yesterday.

The Linsday Fire Department, as well as engines from Porterville and Tulare city, were working to put out the flames.
