Fresno PD arrests teen in connection with accidental shooting of 17-year-old

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police have arrested a teenager connected to an accidental shooting of a 17-year-old last week.

Investigators said three teens in Central Fresno were playing with a gun when it went off-- hitting the victim in the head.

The 17-year-old remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Police said the suspect who fired the shot ran from the scene but officers tracked him down at his home Monday where they said he admitted to his role in the accident.

Police also report the teen helped officers recover the gun used in the shooting.

The suspect now faces gang and gun possession charges.
