Girl Scout Northwest Fresno headquarters burglarized

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police are investigating a burglary at the Girl Scouts headquarters in Northwest Fresno.

Employees said when they arrived at work Wednesday morning they noticed their gate had been pried open and a deadbolt was bent. As workers checked their surveillance cameras to find out who might be responsible they noticed someone had spray painted over the camera lenses-- blacking them out.

A closer investigation also revealed the cameras had actually been disabled around 8:30 Tuesday night.

Girl Scout employees said the break-in must have happened between 9:30 Tuesday night and 7:00 Wednesday morning.

"Lost our large ice chest. We have a huge event this weekend, Agri-Nation, and we were prepping for it so we had our pop-ups out here and our ice chests and some of our supplies for the event," said Patty Crave, Girl Scouts Chief Technology Officer.

The Girl Scouts said the pop-up tents and other stolen property will cost about $1,000 to replace. But they said the cost to repair all the damage from the break-in is another $2,000 and $3,000.
