Man drowns in Shaver Lake; recovery efforts to continue

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man drowned in Shaver Lake on Saturday.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office helicopter was called to the lake, below the dam, for a water rescue just before 5 p.m. Deputies say a swimmer disappeared below the surface.

Cal Fire search and rescue crews started looking for the victim, but they planned to wait until daylight Sunday to continue their recovery efforts. Authorities were also working to notify the victim's family members.
