FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An abandoned home in Downtown Fresno is destroyed after a massive fire. The fire erupted just before 6 p.m. Saturday near L and Amador streets.
Dozens of people were evacuated from their homes and apartments nearby as fire crews rushed to put out the flames. Investigators don't know what started the fire, but neighbors say the boarded-up home attracted transients.
"Unfortunately, the building is a loss, but we protected the apartment structures that were adjacent to it to the south," said Ted Semonious of the Fresno Fire Department.
The fire department says there were no injuries during the fire, and all evacuees made it out safely.
