Person found dead inside burning bus near a church in SE Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Fire Department said a person was found dead in a burning bus near Church and Maple in Southeast Fresno on Monday night.

The fire started a little after 10 p.m. at the East Side Church of God on Church and Maple. Crews spent the night checking the church for hot spots after the fire spread from the bus outside all the way up into to the building's attic.

Witnesses told first responders they couldn't find the man who lives in the bus.

Fire investigators aren't sure what started the fire, or how the person on the bus died.
