FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are searching for the driver of a pick-up truck involved in the hit-and-run of a 9-year-old girl in Southeast Fresno.
The hit-and-run happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Ventura Street and Cedar Avenue. Investigators said the girl was crossing the street near the intersection when the girl ran back across the roadway and was hit by a white truck.
At first, the driver got out of the vehicle but then got back in and drove away. The girl was transported to the hospital with injuries to her leg and is expected to be okay.
While officers said the accident wasn't the driver's fault, he's now facing hit-and-run charges for driving off.
