Porta potty theft leads Fresno PD to illegal marijuana stash
A couple of stolen toilets led Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies to an illegal marijuana stash potentially worth thousands of dollars.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A couple of stolen toilets led Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies to an illegal marijuana stash potentially worth thousands of dollars. The investigation began as anything but a drug bust.

A farmer reported two porta-potties had been stolen from his property in Selma Tuesday morning. Later in the day, AG task force detectives went to a home in Southwest Fresno where the porta-potties were believed to be located.

The Sheriff's Department helicopter spotted the stolen porta potties in the backyard. That led to the discovery of an illegal indoor marijuana grow, which contained close to 200 plants.

Four people were taken into custody including 50-year-old Juan Magana, the only one of the suspects charged in connection with the illegal marijuana grow.
